Our Verdict
If you mostly make ube smoothies, smoothie bowls, lattes, and blended breakfasts for one or two people, the NutriBullet Pro 1000 is the blender we'd buy. It's powerful enough to make blended cottage cheese completely silky, which a lot of cheaper personal blenders can't do, and it takes up very little counter space. There's only one speed and the cups are small, but those limits rarely matter for this kind of recipe. It's the blender we recommend for our whipped ube cottage cheese protein bowl.
What We Liked
- The 1000-watt motor and extractor blade turn cottage cheese, frozen fruit, and ube powder into a completely smooth base in about a minute
- Single-serve cups are the right size for one or two bowls, so thick blends don't get stuck under the blades the way they do in a big jug
- Comes with a 24 oz cup, a 32 oz cup, and two to-go lids, so you can blend an ube smoothie and take it with you in the same cup
- The cups are BPA-free and dishwasher safe, and the blade twists off for quick rinsing
- Well reviewed and easy to find: $94.99 with 4.3 stars from about 800 reviews at Target, where it was shipping when we checked
Drawbacks
- Only one speed and no pulse, so you can't make chunky textures; it blends everything smooth
- Very thick blends sometimes need you to stop, shake the cup, and blend again, or add a splash of liquid
- It's loud at full power, like most high-wattage personal blenders
- The cups are too small for big batches; families may prefer a full-size blender
